The research question I have selected is important to me because I can connect to it with a strong passion. The research question has to do with where I am today as a human being and my vision for 2066 hopes to improve today’s world. The writings I’ve worked on for the Research Problem have helped me towards achieving course learning outcome number 2: "Produce an extended writing project that uses research methods and research genres to explore a topic applicable to the course and that draws substantively on concepts from primary and/or secondary sources." From Beaufort, I learned that limiting your writing to one discourse community produces writers who are ill-prepared, highly demotivated and incompetent “products” (Beaufort 7). Hence, I had to learn subject matter knowledge, genre knowledge, rhetorical knowledge and the writing process knowledge concerning my professional field. By acquiring this knowledge, I was able to begin my becoming as a competent writer. From Johns and Swales, I learned what the term “discourse community” means.…

I decided to research and argue this topic because the Atomic Bomb being reasonable is very controversial. The argument can be argued either way and it is debatable for multiple reasons. Inclusive, many Americans and people around the world are in favor for not dropping the bomb. They claim it was the initiation of human destruction and against inhuman to kill that large amount of people.…

Although I gained much knowledge over the past few months I did struggle with a few things such as formulating a written thesis statement expressing my main point in the composition, producing rough drafts preliminary to the final draft, applying transition strategies to organize the entire composition cohesively and coherently, and overall practicing various prewriting strategies, such as thinking, brainstorming, listing, and freewriting.…

After having read your essay I checked your proposal and your sources analyses in order to have an overall experience of what you would like to research and why. The purpose of your proposal is slightly different from the purpose of your first draft. In your proposal, you mentioned that you wanted to explore "how music and language coincide with one another [and] how music was and is used as a tool to communicate social issues and social changes. " You also wanted to “show how music has been used as a form of language in worship, was, education medical etc.”…
