Personal Experience: The Purpose Of Education

The purpose of education is to inspire scholars to transform their society while making a path for future generations to come. For me education is essential in today’s society, because it helps scholars gain a well-rounded perspective on the issues that happen in the workforce and in everyday life. I believe that all scholars are capable of success, no exceptions. The scholars in my classroom will not only receive a well-rounded education, but will be challenged to think outside the box and critically analyze content for a deeper meaning. Personal growth is accomplished when I as an educator develop personal, meaningful connections with each scholar. By displaying affection and compassion will show my scholars that I truly care for them and that I am an empathic, personable human being. One-on-one mentoring involves personal conversations about goals, and taking time to share ideas and experiences. Serving as a mentor to every scholar, I must exude positivity, exhibit flexibility and confidence, set high expectations for both myself and the scholars, and demonstrate fairness and consistency. In so doing, scholars can observe appropriate adult behaviors first-hand and begin to emulate them as they mature. I will assess student learning through two different forms of assessments, formative and summative. Formative assessments assess students’ knowledge before or during instruction through activities such as: homework assignments, in-class assignments, quizzes. Summative assessments assess students’ achievement after instruction in the form of cumulative assessments, such as final exams. I will engage students in constructive discussions of one another’s work, with a focus on ideas for improvement. I will give students opportunities to revise their work based on feedback they’ve received. In addition, I will create rubrics for complex topics/skills. It is important for me to Inspire Children Everyday so that they will be inspired to build the world of their dreams. My classroom is where I can initially inspire scholars to climb and reach their goals and dreams every day. Make meaningful connections with my scholars by displaying affection and compassion, ultimately showing my scholars that I truly care for them and that I am an empathic, personable human being.
