Three years ago, I went to New Port in California to watch whales in Pacific Ocean. Unfortunately, there was no any whale I could find, so all I did for an hour was just waiting and looking for the sea creature to be seen, standing on the boat. I came back to home with a huge disappointment, wondering why there was no whale that day. I was in the same boat in high school, drifting to find what I really want to do, looking into the dark and calm ocean. To get into a prestigious school in Korea, I used to focus on motivating myself to study, thinking I knew exactly …show more content…
My determination to study aquatic and fishery science was started with the realization from my past, and it was my firm decision to walking through the right path. I was intrigued to study chemistry because I was astonished by vast and mysterious world of molecules in materials that are so much different from observing with naked eyes. Broad world of underwater life that I could not realize few years ago marveled me to jump into this field. I would not give up to get to know whales that I could never see. However, this time I will look around not to leave numerous creatures that will surprise in the middle of the ocean. By applying chemistry and biology knowledge that I am currently taking, into this field, researching the way to create environment to change the way of farming in aquaculture industry to less detrimental ways for marine organisms is my primary goal. Furthermore, in terms of entire biosphere, which is not limited to sea life community itself, I would like to research the way to prevent or restore marine ecosystem from possible climate change and natural
