My Purpose In Life: My Reality Of Spirituality

Decent Essays
My reality is my spirituality. My purpose in life is to glorify God and to serve others. I believe we live in a world in great tension between good and evil. This tension has become our reality. As Christians, we constantly fight evil and resist the temptations of the devil. God provides us with many opportunities and tools to resist evil. Jesus overcame evil with the sacrifice He made on the cross. As Christians, we are also able to overcome evil with good and live for God. I live in this reality throughout all aspects of my life. I believe it is important to live for God and surrender all things to Him. There are many aspects of philosophy which support this view as well. These philosophical principles shed light on the reality of a world …show more content…
In this world there are many aspects of life. Within this life, we have work, sports, relationships, education, play, and many more things. I believe my reality of spirituality can be related to all of these things. I am a baseball player, and I play baseball to glorify God. Although baseball does not have anything to do with God, I play for God because God is part of my personal ontology, which is involved in all things in my life. Throughout baseball, my strength, ability, and rewards are all dedicated to God because He created me and gave me the talent to play. Baseball also allows me to reach other people whom I would not relate with other than baseball. Because of this, I have the opportunity to share with others about the grace and love of God. I work at a Yacht Club as a Buss person. My work has no affiliations with religion, yet I represent Christ and talk about Him nearly every time I am there. This is true because God is a large part of my life and glorifying Him is my purpose. Within work, I tell others about the great works, sacrifice, and loving acts that God does. This opportunity allows me to share my reality with others. I am in a relationship with a girl, and the essence of the relationship does not require any affiliation with God. Nevertheless, I have dedicated that relationship to God. God created us to be in union with one another, and as we grow closer to God, we will grow …show more content…
Within spirituality, there are beautiful aesthetics which point to a life of joy. Aesthetics are defined as a set of principles concerned with the nature and appreciation of beauty. Through the psychological view of aesthetics, Christianity shows beauty in many ways. Within Christianity, there are many aspects of love which is beautiful in nature. God’s love for us is always faithful even when we are not. Although this is not physical, the essence of this love is beautiful because of the selflessness and dedication. This outlook gives a more optimistic view of life by highlighting the joys and good parts of God. Sadly, many people have the Deist view of “moral influence” and are ignorant of the love which God provides. Another aspect of Philosophy which concurs with my view of reality is the Neoplatonism’s view of God. They believe God is the source of everything. Similarly, I believe God created all things and all things are His. God is the almighty creator of this world and I surrender all things to Him. They also believe that we cannot fill the void with finite things. I believe that we must live in the reality that good is fighting evil and choose a side. Once we chose a side, it is essential for us to be dedicated to that side, in this case, to God. Also, St. Thomas Aquinas’s five proofs for God’s existence exemplify the truth that God is real and He is the creator of all. This is also a rationalist

Throughout this paper I was able to look at the subject of beauty two different aspects: the beauty of the world and the beauty of faith. Through these two different aspects, I was able to argue that the connotation of real beauty is what God sees. God sees what is in the heart through faith. What the world sees as beauty is not a joy forever. Desire to seek for the inner beauty of faith that will bring joy…

I truly believe that to understand this world, we must review the three important things that happened with mankind: we were created, we failed and God offers redemption to us. I also believe that in order to fulfill our own purpose of why God created us, we must have a servant attitude. Serving others is serving God himself since He is the creator of everything we see. And lastly, I believe that every human being on this earth has the potential to be redeemed by God. To be redeemed, that person needs only to ask and then follow God.…

Waking up each morning, no one can resist wondering why they were put here, what they were destined to do. Everyone lives everyday searching for their reason, their meaning in life. While most claim to find their life’s meaning through gratifying work or service, all hope that defining life is as simple as a glance into a dictionary. However, realistic authors like Flannery O’Connor, Ernest Hemingway, and Herman Melville use their literary works to delve into complex characters who find their life’s purpose through immoral or unusual actions. In “A Good Man is Hard to Find”, The Sun Also Rises, and “Bartleby, the Scrivener”, these authors develop their protagonist or antagonist to display the universal theme of finding meaning in life.…

Reality, a state of the world for what things truly are and as they truly exist. Reality has perplexed philosophers to an extent, but perhaps none more so than the maddening words of Descartes in his meditations. To say that his words are maddening is a bit ingenuous to Descartes, but what he does propose is out of place. There have been skeptics before Descartes, but the level of skepticism he reaches is quite absurd and even more, it would be absurd if it was even true and could not be refuted in any argument. To begin with Descartes’ evil genius, there will be two vital topics of discussion, doubt, and certainty.…

Colonization is a topic that many people would rather avoid. Some people believe its occurrence was an essential evil that aided in creating developed countries that help advance the world technologically. To others, it is a distant happening because they would consider it as something ancient that occurred under a different set of cultural norms and with a different generation of individuals, while others think of colonization and slave trade as one of the worst injustices experienced by humanity. Whether colonization is acknowledged or not, there is no doubt that it has played, and continues to play, a huge part in the state in which society is in today. What is reality? Reality is a state of normality for us as humans. It is everything we experience with our senses and everything that would still be around if we were no longer on the planet. As Albert Einstein once said, “Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one”. Reality television is a sub-genre, which, first used in the 1990s, helped describe a particular style of television that was based on crime, health stories and accident.…
