My Project: Rewarding My Eagle Scout Project

Decent Essays
When sitting down to decide what my Eagle Scout Project would encompass I never thought that the choice would result in such an impact into the future. My project benefitted the Guide Dogs of Texas Organization, and through teamwork and dedication produced several light and portable PVC puppy agility training equipment (i.e, weave poles, agility ladder, and teeter-totter) and wood cabinet laundry/bedding storage. As minor as theses items may seem, these objects will continue to work to improve the lives of those who aren’t able to fully experience life; That, in essence, my Eagle Project will bring light into the worlds of those kept in the dark; To me that truly is a rewarding experience.

It is a great pleasure to recommend Rachel Sitasz for admission to the Edward Hospital Student Volunteer Program. She is one of the most empathetic, kind, and exceptional humans I have encountered in my 14 years of teaching. I teach Rachel in my 8th grade advanced ELA class. Her academics, character, innate curiosity, intrinsic motivation, ethical standards, and unwavering desire to give back, have put Rachel in a class of her own. In fact, for the first time in over 25+ years, the eighth-grade team created a brand new end-of-the-year award for our graduation awards assembly.…

In today’s society, people are swept up in the wrath of being too prideful, or become greedy. These deadly sins deaden our religious life, causing us to distance ourselves from God’s path. Everyone must dig deep into their spiritual lives, and lend a helping hand to those who need it the most. Whether it’s simply having a conversation with a homeless person, donating money, or volunteering at a daycare for the destitute children, these charitable acts can make a huge difference in someone’s life. My service learning experience was an eye opener for me, and it made me realize how privileged and blessed I truly am.…

I would be a great candidate of the Anne M Dorner middle school chapter of the National Junior Honor Society because I demonstrate scholarship, service, character, citizenship, and leadership in my everyday life. Some of the committee has already noticed my scholarship because they have identified me as having a high academic performance. What the committee might not know is that I have been participating in the STEP program since 7th grade. My service to help the community of Ossining and to show service is by the following, altar service, soccer modified team manager, and I like to lead running and warm-ups for soccer. I also help in my school by helping classmates in what I can, and working in groups and getting the job done.…

Although you have to be 36 years old to legally become the president of the United States, I feel as if I’ve experienced an aspect of presidency in my fourteenth year of living. Of course, it is obvious that being president of my middle school’s National Junior Honor Society is nowhere near being the president of the United States. But in fact, my experience depicts a quite harrowing and concerning aspect of presidency. In an interwoven city and school, creating close relationships was inevitable.…

Wes Moore had a lot of caring friends with big hearts that had determination and drive to helping others. His friend started a clothing company to help single, low income mothers by providing an income for their families by making apparel for the company American MOJO. I think our university community can learn a lot from this and contribute by hosting a clothing or shoe drive for our local families. We could do this by donating our clothes or shoes to individuals that are less fortunate or lower income that can’t provide for their families like they would like to. Another story that Mr. Moore shared with us was about his Veteran friends John and Dale and how they started building homes for disabled service Veterans.…

As a student of Saint David Catholic School it’s a huge honor to have the National Junior Honor Society invite me to join them as an inductee. I would love to be a member of this society because all of my life I have lived by the standard of “success comes before work only in the dictionary.” The goals that I have set for myself can only be achieved by hard work and I feel that being a member of NJHS will really help me reach my goal. As a leader I hope to be able to use my power to aid in the uplifting of others.…

I am writing this essay in order to earn my place in National Junior Honor Society. I believe that my academic skills meet that of what is required of this group. I was the only one to have earned the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence in the 2013-14 school year. I have received straight A’s every quarter of the two completed years of middle school which means that I also subsequently received High Honors those quarters as well. I haven’t ever received a detention or an A.C.E. of any kind, and I intend to keep it that way.…

Teddy Roosevelt once said that nothing worth having comes easy. With this in mind, I have actively spent my high school years working to ensure that my success and achievements are fruits of hard work and perseverance, rather than sheer luck. These past four years, I have dedicated my young mind to absorbing the valuable knowledge that pools before me in my rigorous AP courses. In addition, I also invested a good portion of my time into my school’s band program. Although balancing academics and such a demanding extracurricular activity was difficult, I managed to find the time to also participate in very rewarding organizations such as National Honor Society, among others.…

These services not only brought joy to those around me but provided me with memories that will bring joy to me for the rest of my life. Experiences like this have opened my eyes to the lives of others and the importances of being a kind and gracious person that is willing to provide joy to others. That's the key to service, it isn’t about how much you volunteer. Service is about the people you help. Whether it be a moment of joy, or a donation to improve their life, the importance of service is what you…

We spent a whole day at my school doing simple tasks such as garden cleaning, moving old furniture, covering graffiti, repainting old walls and stairwells. In the end, volunteering had a huge impact not only on me but also the community around me. It enabled me to connect with my community and make my school a better place. I realized that helping out with the simplest and smallest tasks can make a drastic difference in society. If we were to lose physical space, people would surrender their desire to obtain public good.…

For my common experience event I attended the exhibit: Memories from my duffel bag in the library. At first I didn’t read any of the captions I just looked at the uniforms hanging and all the memories from badges to coins to letters to pictures from loved ones. I felt some feeling looking at all of these because it reminded me of my uncle’s closet. The feeling wasn’t sadness it was more like pride. My uncle Mike has so much pride for what he accomplished in the Air Force.…
