My professional life has lead me down many paths. I graduated as a wide-eyed, “straight A” student from high school, prepared and eager to serve my country in the United States Air Force Reserves. When I began my undergraduate degree, I sought to enter the field of electrical engineering. After two years of studying, I changed course and pursued the arena I was truly passionate in – Criminology and Criminal Justice.
While attending college as a full-time student the University of Missouri – St. Louis, I held a full-time job managing multiple New Balance stores and simultaneously attending the Robert M. I did not know a soul, in fact, I never even been to Tennessee until the day I drove in, in my moving truck. Looking for new challenges and more opportunities for development, I came across a phenomenal company: 5.11 Tactical. After months of interviews, I chose to accept the position of Territory Manager with this company. I now work in the sector of Law Enforcement sales. I manage various inside and outside sales reps in dealers in Tennessee and Alabama. Spending the majority of my time in Police/Fire/EMS agencies, and working to cultivate the brand.
Now having solidified my career path, I yearn to continue to my education. I believe a person needs a strong combination of education and experience to succeed in his or her field. To achieve this, I hope to earn my MBA from Bethel University. I want to have a much deeper understanding of business management. I want better control and communication in and of my business. I believe I’ll learn to present my ideas more effectively, and get a profound understanding of business. To be completely transparent, my entire insight into business has been from on-the-job experience and reading books. I have never taken a business class. I was able to lead my first sales meeting, doing a complete business review and overhaul for my account, because I spent weeks researching business models, verbiage, and other core competencies of the business world. I remember the night I accepted the position of Sales Representative at New Balance.
