Growing up in a small town and then moving to Norman for college I have come to realize how important an education is. Since the age of five, I have attended school. I am from a very small town so I have always attended the same school. As an elementary student, I loved school! I loved the structure and knowing that every day I was going to learn something new. I was involved and realized that the decisions I was making would affect me when it came time to choose a college and my career path. When I was applying to college is when I began realizing how privileged I truly am. First off I am an American citizen who has the right to attend school for free, twelve years of education for free. People had chosen to dedicate their lives to teaching and invest time into seeing me succeed. So as I sat there applying to college it hit me. For many Americans, college is not an option.
