Placement Experience
For my practicum experience I am completing my hours at USU Cache County Extensions office. As of now, my placement experience has been wonderful. I have really enjoyed the people and experience that I have been able to take part of the last few weeks. I am able to be a part of different programs that the extensions office is able to put on. These include; Smart Money Moves, Latino Finance, Food Sense, Holiday Happenings, etc. I have really enjoyed each workshop, but considering my emphasis is family finance, I would have to say that the finance related workshops would have to be my favorite. The very first day on the job was quit nerve wrenching. It was a night that we were

Adrie does an outstanding job with how she does her job. She is there to supervise us with workshops and programs we put on, but does an awesome job at delegating and making things get done in a professional manner. I feel her method is very effective. It gives us the independence to be a leader and responsible, but still keeps her thumb on us just in case we need help or things go sour. I feel how much trust she has in us helps things be very effective and helps us as employees not want to let her down. I feel I could improve my use of supervisory help by picking her brain. She has so much knowledge and experience that I would love to have and know. I feel her knowledge and advice could help me in my career …show more content…
I feel that diversity is the most important because we are dealing with those of different cultures, incomes, and skills. We need to not discriminate against others and be able to not judge them or treat them differently because they are different then me or those I work with. Confidentiality is important because when dealing with the finance classes some individuals might be embarrassed that they are there and seeking help. By doing this we will not exploit the person and their finances with anyone. Lastly, responsibility to the profession keeps me dedicated to my work. I take it serious and respect those around me and the programs that we put on. I am devoting all my time and energy into this site, so I can get the best experience out of it that I possibly

Field Experience at Wildwood and Ernest Manning My cohort of ten was assigned to visit two schools over a two-week period with a full week dedicated to each location. The two schools were Wildwood elementary and Ernest Manning high school and while their relative closeness to one another would suggest that some Wildwood students may eventually be at Ernest Manning, they are opposites in terms of their status, how they carry themselves, and what they believe to be most important for students. Wildwood elementary is an old school as observed from its small and outdated architecture. Classes are small and at times claustrophobic, especially when packed with 20-25 of the nearly 600 students making it difficult if not impossible to navigate the…

A few weeks ago, I found myself on the second floor of the North end of the Unity Health Hospital, dressed in the nicest button-up shirt and dress pants I own, shaking so hard that my folder, which held my resume, cover letter, two pens, notebook paper and a cheesy motivational quote stuck to the inside cover, nearly fell out of my hands. My first job interview was an experience that I will never forget. My anxiety reached the point of exacerbation during the fifteen minutes that I spent in the empty lobby. I had intentionally arrived fifteen minutes earlier than my appointed time and was only accompanied by my own thoughts, which were fraught with worry. Had I arrived too early?…
