I began learning classical Indian dance at the age of 3, and have continued ever since. In January of 2016, I had the wonderful opportunity to dance a solo piece with the world renowned Nipa and Shibli from Bangladesh. Apart from dance, I have always been involved in many cultural events, such as theatre, singing and much more. These cultural experiences have shaped me as the person I am today. However, another incredibly influential aspect of who I am today would have to be my school. I do not attend a public school, but rather a charter school and although the academic aspect of my school is incredibly rigorous I would not leave my school. My school is considerably small and that is what makes us a family, we live, learn and grow together and it’s and inspiring environment. At school I have taken leadership in many extra curricular, I am currently Varsity Cheerleading Captain, as well as Youth and Government President, Student Council Parliamentarian, National Beta Club Vice President and a member of The Arlington Mayor’s Youth Council. All of these experiences have allowed me to grow as a person. The most influential moments of my life, however, would have to be from Pageantry. Although, my time in pageantry has not been long it has taught me more than one could imagine. Everyone is both inspiring with their achievements, as they are humble.
