What Is My Intellectual Goal

From the time we were little kids, we have been taught to set goals. Everyone has been asked one simple question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Whether we knew it back then or not, we were setting goals! A goal is a person’s desired result or ambition. It is important, for us as people, to set goals throughout our lifetime. You wouldn’t shoot a gun without having a target. It would be pointless; the same goes for life. You shouldn’t go through life without having goals because you wouldn’t know where you want to end up or the steps you need to get there. For this year, I set four goals for myself in order to improve my education and well-being.

The way to achieve this goal goes hand-in-hand with my intellectual goal. Meaning, that if I do all of the planning to achieve my intellectual goal, I should be able to stay stress free. I can also obtain this goal by not procrastinating on any of my assignments or work duties. An important thing I can do to help attain this goal is to make a schedule at the beginning of each week. This will help me to stay organized. I also will rank my to-do list from most important to least. This will help with being able to finish important and up-coming assignment/projects. If I do get stressed, I will read a book to help calm myself down and reorganize my thoughts in order to get what is stressing me out …show more content…
I am starting off well for this goal by already getting involved in the Student Government Association. I also attended the activities fair to see what other organizations there are on campus. Some of the other groups that interest me are Cru and Campus Students for Christ. These groups interest me, because they will help me to meet more people that share similar interests and values as me. I can help to accomplish this goal by being less shy and more willing to put myself out there. I can also figure out the times that the organizations meet and go to the meetings. While working toward this goal, I need to make sure I don’t spread myself to thin or get over involved because that would hinder my emotional goal of not being as stress free as
