Reflective Essay: My Philosophy Of A Leader

Leaders are chosen to be leaders because people believe in their abilities and people are willing to get along with their leaders. Therefore, to be a leader, for me, is the honor of people who receive this position by other people’s trust, but this honor is followed by an enormous responsibility, difficulty and sacrifice. Leaders should be able to become a good audience when they need to listen, and they must be a good speaker at the same time. Additionally, leaders must have an ability to influence and encourage their members by their vision to reach the goal. Leaders are the one who have to realize team’s abilities, limits, weakness and strength for making team’s decision. Moreover, they have to decide the proper time to go out on a limb.
My leadership philosophy is to lead my members in my team to reach our goal together along with focusing on individual weakness and strength. In my opinion, leader pairs up with member, not follower or servant. Also, I would strictly focus on not to let someone being left behind. However, I wish that I will have a strong philosophy that will effective to my future work and can lead me to my life goal. Actually, there are no supreme methods of being leader, yet I still need to consider what way is the best that fit for my style. Hence, I am presently learning as much as I can to experience many lessons which can improve my philosophy. Basically, my leadership ability is now serving for only my benefit, but in the future, when my philosophy become strong, I expect to use it of benefit others too.
