In order to prevent maladaptive behavior, a consistent behavior plan should be implemented for Hayden at school and home in order to ensure consistency. After observing Hayden’s behavior, I recommend that caregivers and parents continue to monitor and collect data on a weekly basis in order to make any adjustments necessary to Hayden’s behavior plan. A behavior consultant will monitor Hayden’s behavior at school as well as at home until a time in which he shows a reduction in behaviors. When other children are not in the immediate area, step away from Hayden and avoid eye contact. Ensure Hayden’s safety by removing any objects or materials that may cause accident or injury in the area. If he is working at his desk, the caregiver should move behind him in order to prevent caregiver injury. Caregiver should avoid eye contact while maintaining control of the situation.
3. If Hayden is in a situation or are that could potentially cause hare to himself or others (e.g., playground, cafeteria, gym) physically remove him by escorting him to the nearest save area. Ensure Hayden’s safety, then remove eye contact. Tell him one time to calm down. Follow step a, b, c, and d. Document behavior on behavior chart.

Hayden should have a behavior chart to keep track of his behaviors and rewards. The chart will be kept in a notebook as well in his daily planner. Hayden will take his daily planner home each day in an attempt to keep his parents informed of Hayden’s behavior. His parents will initial his daily planner each day before bringing it back to school.
