Being able to know thyself in a way of understanding what makes you uniquely your own person has many benefits. I would not be surprised if most individuals have fathomed about how they are different or similar to others. Through these comparisons and distinctions, there are sixteen known personality types according to the Jung Typology Test. The personality types are based on Carl Jung’s and Isabel Briggs Myers’ personality type theory. Further, the questionnaire-based test is said to discover strengths, weaknesses, preferences and suitable surroundings for an individual. Retrospectively, I have gained exceptional detail pertaining to my personal attributes by assessing myself with the typology test, also known as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). As I stated before, it is no surprise that I am in tuned with what the MBTI has to offer. It captivates my personal interest and adds potential benefit to my future clients. Thus, using the MBTI assessment on future clients may provide the opportunity for me to understand my clients better. For example, if someone were to get to know me, it would take a great amount of time. However, if they read over my MBTI results, I am positive they would know much more about me in the nick of time. Although, taking the assessment requires the most accurate responses that relates to clients. Therefore, being allowed to understand a client’s personality type may lie within the hands of the client. Nonetheless, I still believe that the MBTI is still worth it even if I need to embrace the results with a grain of salt. I personally enjoyed this assignment as it provided me with a sense of validating who I am as a person. I definitely plan on utilizing the MBTI in the future as I continue to learn more information about being the best counselor in my
