My Personality Psychology

During this stretch application I was able to learn more about my personality type as well as more about understanding other’s personality types. My predominant personality type is extroverted and a thinker. I tend to be very outgoing in situations and I also base my actions more on logic rather than my feelings. Success and determination are the main things that motivate my personality type. I am motivated by the thought of winning and tend to be very competitive in every situation. This is both a constructive and destructive behavior that comes with my personality type. Being overly competitive is useful at times but it tends to overwhelm and come off as threatening to others around me. It is hard for me to not turn everything into a competition …show more content…
I believe her personality type is a golden retriever. She is constantly thinking with her feelings and will never speak up about what she thinks. She is introverted and often this leads to the pent up frustration that explodes in the end. I think our personalities clash so much because I am loud and outgoing while she is quiet and emotional. I wish she would stand up for herself more and she would rather ignore confrontation. It annoys me greatly that she will not speak her mind because she is scared about what other people will think. She is also the type that will suffer in silence and if something is bugging her she will never tell you what it is. This becomes frustrating for me because I would rather she rip off the band aid so we can work on a solution and she would rather let it sit and fester in her mind. The main reason I struggle so much with her personality type is because I want to protect her. I makes me mad knowing that people are able to take advantage of her so easily because she cannot speak up and address what she wants. I have had similar experiences with other golden retrievers and often I have to go out of my way to ask what they …show more content…
Initially, the conversation was rocky because my sister could not understand why I was asking her all of these questions. It ended up being a very enriching experience for the both of us as we were able to learn more about one another. I learned that my sister does want to speak up and that she is scared to because of what people may think. I learned that just because she is quiet about most of her opinions, it does not mean that she does not have them. I also learned that she is trying to fix this and speak out more. I was given some insight about my own personality type and how I can come off as intimidating. My sister shared that she is worried that she will never compare to me and that scares her. I have come to realize that often lions tend to look out for themselves and that is something that I need to work on

I will just forgive her because I can’t be mad or mean to her. I don't want people to find this out because I don’t want to be used. Hutzler says “At the deepest root of all these fears is: How the character believes he or she is or might become unloved or unlovable. I am afraid if I let someone down or they are mad at me they will stop liking me. The crutch is that a person falls back on.…

This doubt overcame her life when her face and identity was what she believed to be ugly. The bullies constant torturing and opinions of her looks convinced her that her somewhat pleasant opinions of herself were not true. “They pointed openly and laughed, calling out loudly enough for me to hear, “What on earth is that? That is the ugliest girl I have ever seen….I thought to myself the world of love wanted nothing to do with me.” (Grealy, 124). Grealy began losing all confidence in her own opinions and instead of simply doubting them, she adopted everyone else’s views of her as her own.…

I wanted to use an interest based approach and basically I planned to aim towards trying to have a mutual gain rather than focusing on who is right or who is more powerful. If I had attempted to use power based approach, then it would have caused more problems and more disputes on top of anger, distrust, and a desire for revenge. Most of the time, I use a rights based approach with my sister and I am the kind of person who always feels the need to be right and that really strains my relationship with my sister because her needs never get addressed in those scenarios. We have never gotten closer because of the way I used to try to resolve disputes. So this time, I really wanted to start resolving our disputes using an interest based approach so we can have a mutual satisfaction as well as a closer relationship.…

“I see,” said Alex, “And maybe it’s time to try and do something else. Maybe she’s just not meant for you, man. You’re always complaining that you’re unhappy and just end up in the same place every time with her. Maybe it just isn’t meant to be.” “I’m beginning to feel the same way,” I explained, “You’re right about always ending up in the same place every time. I wish she made me as happy as I try to make her, but there seems to be no effort on her end.…

Since it gives you the ability to express yourself and how you feel about some situations and be to express your opinion also receive constructive criticism. After that, the experience with my mother decision I decided that even sometimes it’s hard to talk about certain things with the family members, sibling, best friend, or even partner, because we are assuming in our mind that it would cause a conflict between each other, even though we haven’t said anything yet to those persons. Humans have that bad habit of thinking for others and decided for other too, thus they opt not to say what they want or feel then they hide or pretend that everything is fine. Instead, of finding tools and how can dialogue with these persons without feeling guilty or sad. As a good example, when I was learning English with friends and at school, I used to have a job in a factory where we should work 10 to 14 hours a day and it was a big warehouse without any windows so I wasn’t able to see the day or when it turned night.…

Whether she is in the wrong or not for taking this approach, this is her way to cope with the constant barrage of negativity that attacks her on a daily basis. She does this possibly as a way to give her sisters a taste of what she feels, but of course the meaning is lost on them since all they are seeing is random violence. But, that is a typical response because not many people would get smacked into realizing their wrongdoings in such a way; it causes them to be more blind to their misdeeds so they continue to believe that there is nothing wrong with them while the attacker is the bad…

Standing alone isn’t necessarily all courage and nothing else; it produces countless trials and hardships that may torment a person emotionally. When I didn’t stand up for the person, I became riddled with guilt and shame, and it still clings to me to this day. One reason why people won’t risk standing alone for what is right is because they fear they will be the target of ridicule. No one enjoys being made fun of or gossiped about. I was afraid that if I spoke up for the girl and against the gossiper, she would in turn gossip about me behind my back.…

On the surface, this may seem just like a part in the story examining closer though a new way of looking at this scene comes to the table. The way Kyle pushes back Claudette from Mirabella symbolizes how Claudette’s heart is. Claudette still wants to be a wolf and she doesn’t want to get “Shunned by both species though”so to please like a wolf would do she tries to be a human, but this can lead to proving she isn’t fully habilitated to normal. The biggest example of her true wolf self showing is when Claudette was about to fail her Salsita dance Mirabella jumps onto her to save her sister and her learning. After she jumped onto Claudette she wanted to “roll over and lick her ears, I wanted to kill a dozen spotted fawns and let her eat first.,”.…

Throughout the course I learned about my personality and my strengths that I could use to my advantage for career options. The Type Coach Report diagnosed me as INFJ, an introvert-intuitive-feeler-judger, which ultimately meant that I am an idea generator. I have the tendency to find solutions that would create a positive impact on others for a long-term expectancy. The report mentioned that INFJ’s have “exceptional work ethic,” and I could not agree with a statement more. I have the mentality that hard work pays off which correlates with the Type Coach’s diagnosis for my strong work ethic.…
