I even learned skills that could potentially mold me into a more leadership role.
Being open about conflict and disagreements help can mold me into a better employee. In the work place, I have always viewed conflict and disagreements as negative. In the past, when I have disagreed with a process or the way something at work had been handled, I just brushed it under the rug. Since reading Type Talk at Work, I have learned that conflict is not bad, rather beneficial. Next time I have a conflict or simple disagreement with a work process or a person, I will just ask to set up a meeting with who ever involved. A meeting would allow all parties to state their case, this way each person gets a better understanding of a particular viewpoint. Conflicts and disagreements are inevitable and there will be no solution to the conflict unless it is talked about. From this point forward, I will open up with co-workers and management whenever I have a disagreement. Open discussions regarding conflict with my coworkers and management will allow me to be more content, productive, and creative at the work
