Introduction Leader is a title we will all have at some point in our lives. Whether we lead a business, a church group, a family, or a group of friends, it is important for all of us to consider the meaning of the word and how we can best serve the title. It’s important to consider the roles we play, as many of them are already opportunities for us to lead and play an important part in defining who we are. Discovering your personality type is also a helpful step, as it reveals new aspects of your self that may not have previously been recognized or considered. When taking the Meyers-Briggs test, I have always received the ENFP type. While studying this personality type, I’ve become confident that it describes me well. I often find myself under social stress, because I take on many tasks and responsibilities to ensure I am helping as much as possible, but I often procrastinate to pursue more social connections and have limited time to complete assignments. I also completely know that I am not often stressed by changes in plans and often prefer evolving plans to set ones, which can be quite annoying to many of my close friends, who tend to be more structured. I often “forget myself” and allow my workspace and room to become cluttered and must find time to complete tasks I subconsciously see as “pointless” compared to social interaction. I do find my strongest strengths to be communication. I love have light and deep conversations and find myself pursuing them in almost every relationship. I’ve taken my personality, leadership style, and strengths and weaknesses into consideration to help identify a leadership plan as I move forward in my life. These plans can be immediately applied to my life, as I already hold a position of leadership through my job as a resident assistant. The first aspect of my plan takes advantage of my big-picture vision and helps solve a weakness in my lack of passion for details. When assembling a team, or leading a group, I plan to help lead and pitch visionary new ideas, which is a strong suit of mine. I can use my interpersonal skills to listen and incorporate the ideas of those under my guidance into a larger vision for the group. This allows all members of the team to be heard, for the best possible vision to be made, and for that vision to be clearly articulated. When moving forward to smaller tasks in pursuit of the vision, I will make clear delegation to groups of employees to make small, but meaningful steps closer to the vision. This delegation will allow me to move between groups and will help solve my weakness, a lack of passion for seemingly insignificant work. The second area of my plan involves using my interpersonal skills in the workplace. I strongly believe that my emotional intelligence and genuine care for people makes me uniquely suited to empower and care for a team. This care will help member of the team
