I have taken three assessments online to gain more knowledge about my personality. And how it will affect me while I am in college. I must say that it was interesting because I really didn’t know what kind of score I was going to get. The VARK questionnaire, Multiple Intelligences Inventory, and the Personality Traits Test were a huge eye opener. I can really see myself succeeding in college knowing now that I have different types of learning styles. While going over my results I noticed that I am indeed multimodal which is a good thing for me. Because I can adjust to others in order to help them in a situation. The VARK Questionnaire was the first learning style I started with online. I have scored the following: Visual learner – 16, Aural …show more content…

All of these intelligences had a score 4 but, the Musical/Rhythmic had 5 and the naturalist had 1. I have the same weakness and improvement and that would be the Naturalist learning style. I could enjoy the outside life more and be more open to going outside than sitting the house. My strengths are Verbal, Logical, Visual, Interpersonal, Intrapersonal, and Kinesthetic. I agree with this Multiple Intelligence Inventory because I am really not an outdoor person and that needs to change. In order to …show more content…
The Personality Type Test results were E S T J which means Extraversion- take action, create note cards, study outlines, and study groups. S- Sensing perceiving the world and taking in information directly, through your five senses. T- Thinking making decisions through logical, rational analysis. J- Judging approaching the outside world making decisions and judgments. I am currently writing notes, using scratch paper, index cards, just a mixture to make sure I use all my learning styles. Any professor that teaches me I will be able to relate to their learning style because I am multimodal. The other elements that could affect me would be being in loud place, television, cellphone, multitasking, family and friends, being tired and sleepy, and procrastinating. Research shows that natural leaders like myself - like to be in charge, value security and tradition. According to The Vark learning styles questionnaire the two learning styles that I learn best with best are aural and kinesthetic. Aural means I learn best when hearing the information spoken and by asking questions about the concept I am learning. The other way I learn best is being kinesthetic which means I use my five senses and hands on experiences to help me learn. The Aural side of me likes to remember stories, examples, and jokes, to be to relate them to the concept I am learning. I have found that I when attended class and really focus on what the instructor or professor is teaching I am able to grasp the concept that is being taught.…

Reflecting on my results from the VARK and MBTI inventories, I am not particularly surprised by what I see. The VARK inventory came back with a result of multimodal: 11 in visual, 13 in aural, 13 in read/write, and 14 in kinesthetic; whereas the MBTI inventory resulted in being an INTP: introvert, intuitive, perceiving, and right in the middle of thinking and feeling. I have no problems being a visual, aural, read/write, kinesthetic learner, or all at once, if available. Although I prefer to learn hands on and by teaching others what I already know, I can adapt to any learning or teaching style. While this does pose it’s advantages, I have always found it hard to apply myself with learning things that I am not wholeheartedly interested…

I found these self-assessments interesting; some things I already new about myself while others I really didn’t consider or realize that I need to improve on. This assessment was based off of my time working at Michaels Arts and Crafts and my time going to the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD) and I overall found possible solutions for problems. When going through the 21st Century section it gave an idea of what I am ready for in the workplace and what might need improvement. Some of these improvements would be my math skills and communicating effectively in writing. For the most part I get my writing down fine, however I feel sometimes I may rush through writing an email or essay specifically at school and accidentally make a…

Multimodal is a combination of two or more of the learning styles. Those who are multimodal in their preferences can be more flexible about how they take in and give out information than those with a VARK profile that emphasizes a single preference.…

My assessment result is that I have a multimodal (VARK) learning preference. My highest score is 14 for kinesthetic, the same score of 11 for visual, read/write, and score of 9 for Aural. After reading the study strategies of learning preference I did identify with kinesthetic taking in all information, using my five senses and experience, as well of examples of how to do something and following through. As well, I know human beings possess 9 intelligences and I also believe we can improve our education by recognizing the multiple learning preference we…

Students are like snowflakes; they are unique in their own way. It would be really boring if they were all the same. According to Howard Gardner, students can learn in eight different intelligences. The eight intelligences include: linguistic, mathematical, spatial, kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalistic. Each person has their own way of learning and perceiving information based on their strengths (Multiple Intelligences, 2013).…
