My relationship with God, without a doubt, has developed much more. I communicate with God, most prominently to sustain a relationship with Him. A source in which I can show how my relationship with God has refined for the better is the …show more content…
The church is a place of worship for many, but for me, I’ve always lacked an understanding of it. In the past year, I was asked to accumulate information from the Church textbook, along with any outside research for the Marks of the Church Seminar. Given the topic of ‘Catholicism,’ I understood the Church more extensively as I began to see the intentions the Church holds. One thing I realized about the Church is that “You may be tempted to say the Catholic Church is Catholic. It seems self-explanatory but as easy as it may sound, the third mark of the Church: Catholic is meant as universal.” Taking part in this seminar; the research and things learned about the Church and Catholicity made me appreciate an aspect of the Church in which I was never familiar with. In comparison to this year’s service experience, I would say I was able to gain more of a personal experience. On April 4th, 2017, I went on a Sandwich Patrol. I had a conversation with a man who right when he started talking couldn’t stop; he shared his life story with us. In order to have a conversation with him, just like last year, I stepped out of my comfort zone. This year, I used what I learned last year ( the act of compassion and understanding of others), and put it into action. It was a rewarding experience without a doubt, but it reminded me that, the way we act in situations is the
