I forgot that one of Jeff’s clients had given him a basket of fruit that she had picked from her fruit trees. The basket had oranges, lemons, and avocados. Wow! something healthy and natural and out of all the food that was made in the kitchen today this was for sure the only real food that came from a garden and was not processed, had no chemicals, no gmos, this was actual fresh food that had been grown and harvested by a human being with no machines involved. First my experience yesterday was a perfect example of how food is culture. We talked about this subject with at least one of our guest speakers. Families are made up of people who eat food. Both families and food contribute to a person 's physical and social well being throughout life. Food affects a family’s schedule, provides social activity, defines relationships, and represents ethnic identities. Food is part of family celebrations, ceremonies, and rituals. For our family baking cookies represents our family’s food culture. Additionally next weekend we will spend most of the weekend making Polish food, which is part of our family
