Essay About My Purpose In Life

Decent Essays
Some people do not know their purpose in life or even what they want to do later on in life and I thought I was the same way. I kept looking back on my past trying to figure out what I have done to get me where I am today. Soon I realized that I enjoy encouraging others, helping students that have no one else to help them succeed, and pushing them to achieve their fullest. I believe that is my overall purpose in my life.
One life purpose I believe I have is to help others in need. By helping others, I will not other see their outcome with what they need help in but also in a social sense. They will be more involved knowing that have someone out there who actually cares. I have honestly experienced this myself. I was never really an outgoing

I love the way they see life. They look at is as if it was us looking at a million dollars. They do have rough days just like anyone and yes some do get very aggressive but many of them can’t help it or can’t control it. They have birth defects that make them lucky to be here but it gives some of them a curse. Some can’t talk, can’t walk, or can’t control their anger and that could be channeled because they can’t communicate like everyone else. I believe it takes a curtain person to work with students with special needs and a lot of people say I have it. I Honestly don’t know what I would do half the time if I wasn’t working with them. They help me through my rough days just by seeing their smile, giving me hugs, or telling me that they love me. A day doesn’t go by where I don’t learn something new from them. I enjoy being with them and they help me just as much as I help them and I believe that this is another purpose I have in life. Already knowing my life purpose will help me achieve my goals in my future career. There is not anything else I would rather do then to help children succeed in life, encourage them to always be the best they can be in anything, and to achieve anything that life has to throw at them. I am a bit relieved that I have realized my purpose in life this young so I can keep pursuing what I love to

For the disability ministry project, we were asked to choose a practicum experience where we shadowed or spoke to someone helping someone with a disability. For my project I chose to spend some time in the class for disabled children at the high school I graduated from. Throughout the glimpse of time that was allotted for this particular practicum experience I learned a lot of exciting things about disabilities, but also made some disconcerting revelations. While spending the day at school I was able to interact with the students, teachers, and overall staff of the high school; gaining insights, perspectives, and forming thoughts on everything I had witnessed. From start to finish, my day back at school has left a lasting impression on me.…

My purpose in life is to serve others. My mother says this began at birth because I was such an easy baby so she could take care of my hyperactive and autistic brother; she says it is just naturally who I am, and I agree. This is the reason I chose to attend high school at St. Joseph’s Academy whose motto is “Not I, But We,” and whose mission includes “serving the dear neighbor without distinction.” This is also the reason I chose to attend a Jesuit University for my undergraduate career, as its mission incorporates making “decisions in the light of what is truly for… the service of those in need” as well as forming “men and women for others.” These ideals are my ideals, and I believe that this is what draws me to be an Occupational Therapist…

During my observation I took notes on both the students behavior and the strategies implemented by the teacher. The observation helped me to further evaluate the importance of inclusive classrooms and the influence an educator has on these students.…
