An Example Of My Core Values In My Life

I am a woman that is always self-evaluating, and working to better myself. Some of my core values are Faith, Family, Growth, and Broad-mindedness. These are some of the most important values that I strive to practice in my everyday life. Faith is by far the most important core value in my life. My relationship with my lord, and savior is number one. I would not have the amazing life I have now if it were not for him. Being able to communicate with him anytime I need to, helps me through the day. I know he will always be apart of my life no matter what my future holds. There have been times in my life that I have questioned what he had planned for me. However, I know his plans are far greater than anything I have planned in my life. My family is my world. I am not familiar with any other religions. I am willing to learn about different religion however, I am not sure I will understand them. Social workers must understand different religious sanctities, especially when dealing with children and how they are being raised. Ignorance is one of my biases; it is hard for me to connect with people that make judgment or comments about thing that they know nothing about. I feel that ignorance will be one of the hardest personality traits I will deal with on a regular base as a social worker. One of my core values is being open minded, and I strongly try to live that way. Some people think they know everything and there is no convincing them otherwise. Another bias I have is people wanting something for nothing. I believe that you must work hard for what you have. If you are given everything you will not value a dollar.
