Whenever my friends would come over, there was no end to the amount of snacks and drinks my parents would provide. My schoolwork was never an issue at home. I was naturally very good at studying and taking tests. My parents never saw the need to pry into my schoolwork when there was no problem. However, every Thursday night my mom would help me study for the big spelling test the next day. Other than that they left me alone to complete my homework. One thing I did enjoy being apart of, at that age, was playing football in the Dunmore Oilers program. My dad 's side of the family was Italian, so we would often eat pasta, manicotti, garlic bread, etc. My mom 's side was German, but there really was not much we did when it came to our German heritage. However, my mom 's Presbyterian upbringing did take control when it came to religion. When I was younger, I was very religious. I listened to every word my minister said, I sang songs, and I said my prayers every night. My family grew up in the small town of Dunmore. “Everybody knows everybody here”, it 's pretty much the town motto. I always assumed that my family was not rich, but not poor when I was younger. I would get any toy, video game, or movie anytime I wanted it. My parents always spoiled me and I just assumed it was because I was being a good boy. I now realize that they made me a good boy and without them I would not be the same person that I am
