Computer Mediated Communication Reflection

When comparing the results of my first quiz to my last one I noticed that they were a little different but not by much. To my surprise I actually scored slightly lower the second time, I think that as the semester went on I realized that I wasn’t as good at communication as thought. Taking this Intro to communication course I was able to have a new insight and view on what it means to communicate. Even though my score was slightly lower I feel as though some aspects of my communication have improved. For one I feel that my communication with people in my personal relationships has improved. Although I never thought that I was an extremely cold person I knew that in some cases I would have a distant kind of attitude. I personally believe that when this did occur it was because I was unsure how to react or feel about certain situations. Another factor that may have played a part in my distance at times was the fact that I didn 't want to say anything to hurt someone I care for so instead I would say nothing at all. This struggle isn’t really an issue for me anymore because I realize that stating how I feel is just as important as listening to how someone else feels. I think that because of the technological time frame that has occurred during my life there was never a time where I was without technology. On the flip side, this is probably why my interpersonal communication isn’t as good as it could be. Since I 'm used to texting,facebook, and other social medias face to face communication usually is a secondary form of communication.
