Preschool Teacher Research Paper

When I was three, my preschool teacher each of her students what they wanted to be when they grew up. Many of the girls responded with “princess” or “fairy” or something similar. For me, I wanted to be a princess and a teacher. (because what three-year-old doesn’t want to be a princess?) I don’t really know why I wanted to be a teacher. It was my first week of school ever and, although my mom was a teacher before I was born and for a few years later on in my life, I never actually saw my mom as anyone else other than as my mom. I was always asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. Every time I would respond with “I want to be a teacher.” After I came up with what I wanted to do, I had to decide on what grade to teach. I often found that whatever grade I had just finished was the grade that I wanted to spend the rest of my life in. I was that kid who loved school and would get up every morning excited for the new day. I had a love of learning and I knew that teaching was meant for me. Then, I went to high school. I had the most rotten experiences in high school that I hope no teenager ever needs to face. I started to actually hate going to school and I hated learning there. I have had some really awesome teachers. I’ve had teachers that changed my life and has inspired me to become teachers. Almost all of these teachers were from when I was in middle school. I also had some rotten awful teachers that made me miserable and question my entire life purpose. All of these teachers were from high school. When I came to that realization, it was eye opening. It proves that, as a teacher or anyone working with children, I have to constantly be open to every student and know that I have the capability to change their lives for good or for bad.
