has drastically changed. In Pakistan the only people who got “educated” were rich people as they
could afford the expensive tuition fees. Getting an education in Pakistan meant going above the
standards and receiving a status. A college graduate would receive more respect in the job place
as compared to person with just a high school diploma working there for years. Unfortunately in
Pakistan we never had an option in high school to take advance courses or courses that a person
has an interest in. Teachers used to give us formulas and theorems but never the origin for it, and

Like most people, I have a dream, to be successful in what I love. My passion for airplanes is
beyond the thought of people defining the word passion. The only way to be around what I am
passionate about is to go through college. For me defining higher education meant to go follow
ones dreams and become a successful person. But when I actually got to the college reality hit
me, and my definition of higher education changed to finding a good job and making good
money once I graduate.
Most students who graduate from high school do not know what they love, or what they
are going to be doing in the next 5 years. Higher education can guide those perplexed students
and show them the door to success. Although it is not always true that one would find success in
what he/she loves. That is what happened with me. I got into the University of Houston as a
mechanical engineering major. I was all motivated, that I am here to learn only and not thinking
about jobs, but after two semesters I realized the job market for mechanical engineering is
drastically going down. That is when reality hit me, and a thought came across my mind
