My boyfriend and I have been together (off and on) for 5 years and we are very happy. We have been living together for 2 years. At this moment, we live with his family. They are very close with me. My boyfriend and I both come from big families, and we are very close with them both. My immediate family except my eldest brother do not live around here. I call them at least once every two weeks. Everyone in my family and my boyfriend’s are very supportive of my decision of going back to school. I am the first person in my family to go to college for more than a semester. Support from my family (and my boyfriend’s) is providing encouragement to pursue something. This includes emotional support, which is very important when making big life decisions. No one in my family has gone to college for more than a certification or two. I feel this makes me thriving because I can go to anyone in my family or my boyfriend’s and ask for help with anything. Talking to my family about my worries definitely helps lower stress levels. Outside of my family and my boyfriend’s family, I have a great circle of friends. We are musicians, we sit around and talk about music. We play music to destress. Concerts are something I enjoy very much when I can afford it. I would not change anything about my social life. My social life gives me an escape from stress. Having an escape from stress makes me a thriving
