Educational Philosophy Statement We all must have our own ideas or thoughts that intertwine with our teaching styles and ways. As an educator we must provide uniqueness just as our students are all unique. My kids will become the essence of my life, they reflect me and my teachings. Students are sponges that take in information and I am that information. Children are very impressionable. I am a just person; I find balance in life and what I do. This will translate into my work and my students as they grow to understand life. Teaching will help me grow as an individual and my teaching with give my students individualism. Keeping a child completely focused is a tough task when teaching lessons that don’t have much interesting information. Knowing this information I will make sure that my students are engaged by doing hands on activates in the class room. If a child is entertained they will take in more of what is taught that rather than letting it seep through. Also I could meet with my students and make sure that they understand everything and know what’s going on in class. Getting the most out of my lessons is the goal every time. I will ensure that I lesson to my kids and get feedback from them when they try to explain. This quote tells us the basics of life, we are as free as our minds allow us to be. Education opens doors and allows us to create our own paths. Education is linked with our imagination, as education expands so does our imagination. This is what I want for my kids and my students, education to let them be free to fly and explore the world. I have a motto that I follow in life, it should be a quote that all should know and believe in. “Don’t let someone’s opinion of you become your reality”- Les Brown, this quote has the most meaning and value to me. Growing up in the inner city and being a minority you’re constantly being put down, you’re told you will not amount to anything and so I want to ensure to my students that you don’t have to listen to anyone’s opinion of you. What they say about you is not what you have to become. Another quote that ties into my motto and has help me thus far and will influence my students positively is “you never fail until you stop trying” by Albert Einstein.
