My Personal Philosophy of Education
Children are the future. They need and deserve committed, educated, understanding, teachers. Children have the potential to change the world and offer something unique and new. They are all special individuals. Each student has many different talents and abilities. I will help them find these talents and abilities and I will help them mature so they can use these talents and help them grow. Not one child is the same, but they all do possess the power to make a difference. I have a very strong passion for teaching, and I believe in what Aristotle stated, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” I believe that both the heart and the mind must be educated …show more content…
Children will fix and understand their mistakes way better if the feedback comes as soon as possible. Grades and suggestions from me will be something on the top of my priority list every day. Giving students their grade on an assignment or test a few weeks later will not help them learn as much as it would if it was given back a couple days later, or even the next day if possible. If they get the results too many days after they finished the work, then they most likely have something else on their mind and that score is no longer important. Or if it is really late and they had another assignment before they got their score back on that one, they will not know what they need to improve on. So immediate feedback is important. Another thing that will be necessary in my classroom is the feeling of safety. My classroom will be a place that the kids want to come to. I will be a person they are comfortable to talk to and communicate with. The students’ safety is extremely important to me. I understand that some children have really hard home lives, and I plan to make a place for them where they can relax and enjoy learning. I will try to the best of my ability to create a welcoming, safe, and comforting environment for these
