According to a certain writer, it is deeply noble to be a hero for each other to give the world the best we have. Experience has shown that in some dark situations, as a frightened human being, we need someone to bring us hope and comfort. As we all know, heroes are usually extraordinary people, but the simple things they have done could make a big difference in other people’s lives. As an immigrant, the integration to American culture represents a challenge and the assimilation of the new language is also a struggle. As a woman, I always consider myself as being independent. It is evident that we learn from others, but I believe that is also part of my culture and inner being. However, coming to America allows me to understand and reveal more about my anterior life including my frustrations with my hyphenated identity and the two cultures that frame my life. It is evident that we do not have the same accent or pronunciation as native speakers do, but just because this difference doesn’t mean that we are not capable. For example, I studied business back home, but here there is nothing I can do with my diploma, so I need to go back to school and that is exactly what I did. In order to support my family, I took a nursing assistant class which was takes for about three months to get a reasonable pay to survive. Actually, I am almost done with my prerequisites for the nursing program, and I believe that having this degree would help me to help others, so I can offer the world the best I have.
