The way I view myself and my body plays a major role in what I do during my leisure time. Since I view myself as a very slim guy I spend more of my leisure time in the gym trying to gain muscles and putting my body through all these vigorous work outs so I can have my body in the best shape it can be in. I also eat a lot of food so I can gain more weight because I don’t like being a slim as I am. Also, since I’m tall I like playing basketball because the taller you are the easier the game of basketball can be to play. Now when it comes to Media I’m looking at how people have stereotypes for different types of people, and most stereotypes of based upon your race so that’s why I find these two things similar. Since I am an African American stereotypically when it comes to leisure activities like sports I should be good in basketball, football, track, or fighting. Culturally I see most African Americans either wanting to play basketball or football no other sports like soccer, baseball, or tennis. Now me likening all types of sports I play everything from tennis to soccer, but most people think it’s weird I like to play soccer or tennis they usually assume that I play basketball or something. I mean I like playing basketball and football but that doesn’t mean that’s the only sports that I’m good at.
