A2a. Personal Leadership Strengths With my leadership style being situational,
Professor Rini spoke in non scientific terms of what my strengths were. But the question must be asked, is there evidence to actually support his premise regarding my strengths. In Primal Leadership we learned that the best leaders, “are likely to have a knack for acting as a limbic attractor, exerting a palpable force on the emotional brains of people around him/her.” Additionally, the book goes on to crystalize Professor Rini’s words to me, “even when leaders were not talking, they were more carefully watched than anyone else in the group.” This book taught me that many of the things that I felt, were actually real scientific methods, that enable leaders to become more effective.…
Personal leadership / management style analysis During my first few weeks in the field experience course, I have noticed the complexity of leadership and management that is involved in the work field. Both, a leader and a manager are very important people in an organization. According to Collins (2001), managers and leaders “exist in different forms, roles and responsibilities”; as a result, Five Level Hierarchy exists, where level one has highly capable individuals, two is contributing team member, three is competent manager, four is an effective leader, and finally five is an executive. A great leader must be an effective communicator in order to lead a group of people in order to accomplish a goal or vision.…
One day as I leisurely read, I stumbled upon the following quote, “Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.” On a website comprised of many short yet moving quotes, this one quote in particular was the most tangible to me in the entire collection. For weeks, I pondered on the very essence of strength and questioned what hardships have I endured and how was I strengthened by it.…
In the Synergize category, I scored 14 which rated me as very good. I believe this is true in my day-to-day life, in and outside of work. I have always been very empathetic with people I speak to. I listen to what he or she is saying and always try to see myself in ‘their shoes’ so that I can have a great understanding of what he/ she may be going through; further is shows that I am invested in them and want to be involved and help in any way I can.…
My major strengths related to this outcome were communication, and problem solving skills. I have good communication skills; I talk to people in a way they feel comfortable sharing their problems with me so I can help them in the better way to promote health and well being. Due to better communication skill I was able to obtain all the necessary information regarding their disease states and due to my problem solving skills I was able to recommend other preventative care vaccines like pneumonia vaccines to the diabetic patients if they haven’t received one. For example, I was able to obtain the information that a patient is pregnant and is in her first trimester due to my communication skill and because of my problem solving skills I recommended…
Assessing My Style of Leadership There are many great leaders in this world, but they don’t all use the same method or style of leadership. Determining your leadership strengths and weaknesses can help determine a leadership style that best suits you, enabling the identification of ones strengths and the opportunity to improve weaknesses. Doing so will help you maximize your leadership abilities. I will be using the University of Kent Leadership Assessment to assess and explain my leadership style. These results will be analyzed and examined to see which assessment results were most surprising.…
The purpose of this academic work is to interact with a squadron level or sister service commander, reflect on my current command leadership philosophy, and capitalize on the experience as I prepare for the next level of leadership. The body of the report shall cover the following three key elements: my personal leadership philosophy, a summary of my interview with an Army commander, and an analysis of the interview in correlation to my personal leadership philosophy. Personal Strengths Inventory This strength assessment is very accurate and confirms strengths that I already recognized about myself. My first strength is connectedness. I believe that the strength of connectedness centers on people, your interactions and relationships with them, and how those moments affect your life and the lives of those around you. My second strength is adaptability. Adaptability is the ability to move from task-to-task quickly without becoming disorganized and frustrated.…
I define leadership as the ability to influence others to accomplish commonly agreed upon goals. I have held several leadership roles throughout my academic career, but rarely analyzed my strengths and weaknesses. Through Dr. Courtright’s course “Leadership in Organizations,” I became aware of mistakes I have made while leading and may continue building a quality leadership methodology. In this essay, I will identify my key leadership strengths and weaknesses.…
According to research made, about 66% of business leaders say that they are instructing their staff to better their leadership skills so they could perform their jobs better. This means that many want a person that is trained and knows the adequate skills of a leader. Nevertheless, many people have different opinions as to what actually makes a person a strong leader. Others disagree that leaders are made. To be a good leader, you have to train and learn the specific skills needed.…
In terms of leadership style, I would consider myself more towards social leadership that focused more on teamwork, resolving disputes and providing support (Myers, 2013). Instead of directing the other group members on what to do, I distributed my authority with my group members by giving them the opportunity to voice their ideas as well as involving them in decisions making processes. I believed that group members felt more appreciated when their suggestions were acknowledged which then enhanced more creative and productive thoughts. This was due to the fact that brainstorming that involved the entire group encourages and stimulates ideas from different individuals (Nemeth, Personnaz, Personnaz & Goncalo,…

Generally speaking, I believe I am a strong teacher. I am still learning, however, I believe that I will only continue to become better with experience. As an educator it is very important that I make sure that each and everyone of my students is able to learn. I believe one of my biggest strengths is being able to do so. I adhere to all learning styles while teaching.…
