During my freshman year of high school, I discovered a personal truth, that I have no limitations other than those I choose to place upon myself. As the oldest child I have often faced many challenges and obstacles, but my family's support and my determination to succeed has kept me persistent. Three years ago, my mother had surgery and spent over two weeks at the hospital while my brothers and I remained at home. My mother's absence was a tormenting experience in which made me more conscious of the responsibilities I had as the oldest sibling.
