Going to see my once independent grandma, who now couldn’t even lift herself into her own bed, became heartbreaking. Even though I wasn’t very old I remember going over each day with my mom to give her a daily shot. This went on for a few more months, and then finally the hospitals decided to keep her. As her cancer started to take over her body there was nothing more they could be done. Over hearing my parents talk one night I heard that they put her on life support. Even at the age of ten I knew that life support wasn’t good. We visited the hospital many times, at least once a week if not more. I can remember the day they pulled me out of school to hear the worst news anyone wants to hear. My Grandma Beebe passed away. At the time I didn’t know why it happened to me, why my grandma? With her passing away, I learned many lessons some bad and some that I will always cherish. Looking back, I now know
The loss of a family member brings some families together, but also tears some families apart for my family it did a little of both. Every family contains that one family member who doesn’t get along with anybody; my family that just happens to be my dad’s youngest brother. After my grandma passed away, he began to become disrespectful to everyone including his nieces. Putting that aside the rest of the family grew closer, knowing that what my grandma would want. As a family, we learned that cherishing the small things because later in life they become the big things in
