My Time of Constant Growth One of the reasons eighth grade Ky Majors choose St. Cecilia was due to the fine arts program. Attending the forensics tournaments, hosted here was a main contributor to decision and since I have never looked back. Immediately upon attending I joined the forensics team and during my Sophomore and Senior year, I did the musical. The decision I made in eighth grade and even throughout high school have majorly contributed to my love and growth as an actress. My freshman year I was an impressionable child who thought that through middle school forensics, I was basically a pro. During my first tournament, that was proven to be extremely false but I was not deterred. As the year progressed I made friends on the team and tried categories I would never dream of. Most of my experience came from VAP but besides that I was mentored a lot by the older forensics members. Most of my freshman forensics memories was of Page helping me out with impromptu, Maggie helping with my ADS or entertaining the upperclassmen with Duet Improv. Second semester of my freshman year, I decided to write an ADS. This was a personal step from non-preparation categories to …show more content…
The Tuesday before, I realized my piece was not published and was in need of changing. Due to the stress of the One Act, I did not fully complete the switch until the Friday Night before the tournament. Shockingly when I arrived I realized most performances were mediocre at best. I didn’t get my hopes up because I knew I was ill-prepared as well. When I broke into finals, I gave myself an internal pep talk and put as much energy and emotion in as possible. At awards I found out that I had gotten first in Poetry and Best Actress. Getting Best Actress was very important to me because I am constantly ‘wowed’ by my peers and don’t realize my own potential as an

As a senior captain, I was given the opportunity to visit the local elementary and middle schools throughout the year to coach and mentor girls that wanted to play basketball in high school. It occurred to me that I had been in their shoes not too long before. I remembered how much I admired the varsity team when I was a younger and how I would have done anything to be just like them. At this point, I realized that though it was still important to me to win games and advance towards the goal of a state title, I had been given the chance to be an example for these girls just as the previous varsity team had been for me; and that is what really…

I think that I have come a long way learning how to deal with my disability, and I’ve met and accomplished many of my goals. For instance, I was named Troy Middle School’s Student of the Month in 8th Grade a month before I turned fourteen, and I was in the ten percent out of the entire freshman class at Joliet West to get an award for academic achievements. Well, I’m not really good at taking standardized tests, but I’ve improved. All of my hard work throughout the years were paying off. After I graduate from high school, I am going to Joliet Junior College and then I am thinking about transferring to Yale or Georgetown…

Just overall, I show great school spirit in anything the school puts on. For example, during dress up week during the fall, I dress up every week, because I want to show other students that dressing up or getting involved with school activities is “cool”, because it so is! Or if student council is putting on a badminton tournament, or DREAM Team is putting on a dodgeball tournament, I encourage students to participate in those events, because being involved in those types of school activities is what keeps you out of trouble, and it keeps you…

Massey School of Dance is not only a competitive dance studio but a family where I spent 15 years of my life learning life lessons and amazing choreography. I started dancing at Massey when I was three years old and I loved every second of it. When I was younger I played soccer, was on a gymnastics team, played softball, and danced, when I reached the age of 10 I quit everything but dance. At the young age of 8 I was asked to be on our competition team because my dance techniques were high enough to compete with the team. At Massey competition season is the best time of the year.…

I went on to the interview not knowing anything about Freshman Class Council, but by the end I felt like I was right next to Darren in the council. I learned everything about what the club is, what they do, and their budget for everything they do. It was interesting to know that they do so much for the student body especially during finals week. I can tell from my interview with Darren that Freshman Class Council is a very professional and organized club, that is really devoted to help out not only the freshman class, but for the entire campus and make it a better…

Besides my mom, who is lovingly nicknamed "Superwoman" by everyone who knows how she tirelessly works to support her family, a good friend of mine has also made an enormous impact on my life. I met this person on a field trip in eighth grade and we immediately became inseparable. Somehow, my friend listened, cared and completed my life like no one else, but high school came knocking on my door and everything changed. While sticking with this person during my freshman year, I quickly found my confidence dropping, friends disappearing, and engagement in outside activities dying out. Something in their life turned them completely upside down and they had begun to insult and yell at me every day, until I was stripped down to an empty skeleton.…

What I was really late to were my explorer meetings and actually I was late to every single one this year which was really unprofessional. I also want to stop being late to first period because I miss 10 minutes of it half of the time and this is actually a big reason, because if I get marked for tardies I will become ineligible which means I can’t go to wrestling tournaments. The main reason I’m making this resolution is because of practice and Coach Wright isn’t very happy when I’m late. These are the reasons of why I’m making this…
