Strength And Weakness Of Self Analysis

Upon taking the Strengths Finder Assessment, I learned a lot about my inner traits as a person. My top five strengths that I am best developed for were Discipline, Restorative, Relator, Analytical, and Consistency.
The first strength that I will speak about will be discipline. “People who are especially talented in the discipline theme enjoy routine and structure. Their world is best described by the order they create” (Rath, 2007). I am known for establishing recurring patterns such as processes and rules that make it easier for a group to reach its objectives in an efficient and hassle-free manner. I am a firm believer that those top five traits/strengths describe me well. With that being said, I plan to employ all five strengths within my professional development. My actions for tackling discipline will be to recognize that everyone will not have a work ethic like mine. I must be able to adapt to others work ethics and way of accomplishing the task at hand. I must be able to seek out roles and responsibilities that have structures. Discipline is sought out by many in different ways. I must be able to explain that discipline helps pack more effectiveness into a day and that is why it should be practiced. Ideas for action regarding restorative discipline include seeking roles in which I will be paid to solve others problems. I must give myself a break by toning down on self-analyzing and constantly critiquing myself. Constant improvement is one of my hallmarks therefore; I must seek opportunities to enhance my abilities through a demanding field. This should be something that I will frequently practice through the demands of the military and the profession by nature. As a relator, a workplace that encourages friendships would be preferable. The military allows for such an environment to be possible. The command climate in a unit is very important. Not only does it encourage a positive work environment but it allows unit cohesion amongst soldiers and contributes to the success of the mission. Applying analytical skills to be professional development will not be a struggle for me. My chosen career profession is analytical. As a military intelligence analyst I must accumulate and analyze information and lead to its application and implementation. Data collection and interpretation will be my expertise. Lastly, consistency in my profession saves lives. Following rules, guidelines, regulations and paying attention to detail is critical. There are many men and women to my left and right within my profession that
