I have always been fascinated by music festivals. It amazes me how people with different ages, are eagerly passionate to attend to all types of festivals. It shocks me that at some time in history someone thought that people would enjoy this, citing the madness and frenzy of a feeling and the desire for it never to end. For me it’s precisely the thrill and excitement of having the experience of enjoying the music while connecting with others around me.
My first experience with music was through my cell phone, I wanted to listen to something new. While I skipped through music on my Pandora, I caught myself listening to a song that brought me a lot of joy, made me want to jump and shout out loud. “Strangers” by Seven Lions it was. In this environment all our senses are turned on to give us the ultimate experience, but the one that we less tend to focus on is the smell. Certain sounds equal smells in my understanding of my own olfactoric world, with a specific selection of attributes to describe odours. Other than that, it’s a magical place where everyone can express and dress however they want to, pushing the definition of “weird” to the maximum, and nobody will be questioned for it.
All of the amount of energy that music festivals buildup are release into the crowd as immenses drops, it provides its listeners almost a spiritual experience, where they open themselves up, and just fall into the music all over again. Through the ritual and celebration of the music festival, I think we all experience the flows of life together. It’s a celebration of how life is constantly changing while we are just holding on, to stay alive and to identify our individual
