My first experience in the health care field was during this last year when I volunteered at Albany Medical Center in the transportation department, more specifically for the rehabilitation unit. The main role I play is aiding patients get to and from therapy. The Most rewarding part is seeing the progress that is made by the patients as the weeks go on. When patients enter the unit they are typically low-spirited and don’t feel like themselves. However as time progresses the patients are propelling to who they use to be. Even though seeing this progression is inspiring, it is also dreadful to know that they have to go through this challenge. Unfortunately, I Learned this lesson late and this affected my grades. Over the past few semesters I have learned to not only mange my studies but also foreseen professional obligations. This change has not only improved my grades, but also has made me efficient at another task. My life experiences have shaped me to who I am today. Seeing the effects losing someone has on a family, and the challenges some have to go through to become whole again is what made me want to make a change in the world. Public Health is integral to making that change. Living in a world with no sick people may not be the current world, but it will be a world that I work
