My Personal Experience: A Moment In My Life

Improved Essays
You ever had a moment in your life that changes it forever? A moment that gave you a new perspective about the world or even about yourself? I had one of those moments in my life and what I learned about myself changed my mentality forever. An ordinary family trip to the zoo had turned into a life changing event that I would never expect to deal with at 10 years old. This is how my perspective changed forever. It was a rather normal drive to the San Diego zoo. The highway ran near the ocean on a cliff and the breeze was refreshing. A random white cars tire just exploded and swerved to the right. It was heading right for us. My mom panicked and hit the brakes and also turned right. The car was going too fast and turned too quick. We went sideways. The car did a flip or two and slid across the road for a good hundred feet. All I could hear was the crashing of metal, the skidding of tires, and the breaking of glass as we flew down the road. I can feel the tension of my hands griping the handle of the door and part of the seat. My heart was racing and my head started to hurt from the spinning. The only fear that I felt was when I saw the car coming towards us, but in the heat of the moment and after, I was calm. All I was thinking, “Is everyone else alright?”, before I worried about myself. Which is strange for a ten year old to think. No one was hurt despite everything. The people from the other car were fine to. Their car skidded just ahead of us and also hit the fence. The next thing I knew, there was many cars stopping to see if we were alright. An ambulance and firetruck showed up a couple minutes later. After a while my granddad came over to pick us up from the accident and we went back
