With this comes the process of learning from my mistakes in order to perfect my writing skills. In first year writing, in order to learn from our mistakes, we conducted revision exercises throughout the year that would help us perfect our essays. This included writing peer reviews for others, receiving peer review, and work shopping essays during class. Through these strategies, I was able to learn more about writing, whether it is the structure of rhetorical analysis paper, or how to craft topic sentences that better fit thesis. These are the small writing skills that I think are important for everyone have in order to be a functioning member of the society we live in today, and it is because of my passion for learning these skills that I choose to use the pieces to better myself as a writer.
