My Favourite Band Essay

Decent Essays
I chose to write about one of my personal favorite bands. I will tell you about their music genre, give a personal biography of the band as a whole, and last but no least tell why I have a passion for them. The Red Hot Chili Peppers are a rock bad that emerged in the early 1980’s. They mixed and still continue to mix genres such as funk, alternative, and punk rock to make their sound a tad bit more original and not so much just plain rock. Alternative rock is their primary sound. Alternative rock is a genre that rock music was placed in when it could not exactly fit anywhere else. Some people know it as “rock music” that birthed from punk rock. Alternative rock really hit a peak of popularity the 1990’s although it has history from further …show more content…
You always hear that third time is a charm and for them it was, with their third album The Uplift Mofo Party Plan being a huge success. This album was their first to make the charts. They continued to impress the world when a year later in 1988 they released a stopgap five-track release called The Abbey Road EP. With things going well for the Peppers heartbreak hit the band when member Hillel Slovak died of a heroin overdose on June 25 in 1988. After Slovaks death other member Irons left the band again and this time did not come back. With only Flea and Kiedis they decided to venture on and keep making music. With new replacements John Frusciante and Chad Smith, The Red Hot Chili Peppers released their first album with new members. Mother’s Milk was the best one yet and was loved by growing fans everywhere by 1990. But in 1991 The Peppers blew fans away with the drop of their new album Blood Sugar Sex Magik with hits like ‘Give It Away’ and my personal favorite ‘Under The Bridge’ on it. And they even also won their first two Grammy Awards in 1993 in the category of Best Hard Rock Performance on their single ‘Give It Away’. But like former band members Frusciante had started to do drugs, and quickly quit the band during …show more content…
Not that I could play any instruments or even sing, but it’s just that I always felt like music made every situation a little better. It can make you feel so many different emotions and I think that 's an amazing thing. My parents also share a great love for music. They spent most of their time attending concerts together when they were younger. I think they had a huge influence on my passion for all types of music. I grew up listening to who they listened to. One of those bands being "Red Hot Chili Peppers". I think that has a lot to do with why I love them so much. They remind me of spending time or riding in the car with my parents when I was a little bit younger. I also love this band so much because they sounds so unique to me. They don 't blend in like most bands especially from the 20th century. They have always had their own sound and I think that 's one of the things I enjoy the most while listening to them. Although some of my favorite songs by them were released in the late 90 's and very early 2000 's they still sounds brand new every time I listen to them. It 's crazy to me that these are songs that have been played over and over again for almost 17 years and people have yet to get tired of them. Songs in today 's time get big for a moment and then die down and people forget about them. This just hasn 't seemed to happen with some of Red Hot Chili Peppers songs. Now I know that this is just a personal opinion but this quality has

The Philosophy of My Band Director When thinking about my band director in high school, I see her as an interventionist in Wolfgang and Glickman’s classroom management philosophy. Since my junior year of high school, I have observed my band director in her middle school band classes. Because her ensemble numbers have been growing rapidly, she has turned into an interventionist. She does not give the students much free time because they have the opportunity to get very loud and out of control. Her 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade band classes all consist of more than 60 students and just one teacher.…
