My Personal Assessment

The interesting thing is that both recorded times I have taken this particular evaluation I ended up with the exact same conclusion of being a “Guardian”, even 5 years apart. In my life I have done many personality type analyses as part of my personal practice to be self aware of my communication proficiency. This began in my early 20’s when I was in a very lost and troubled time and sought out guidance towards a career. The counselor I worked with had me complete a battery of tests and questionnaires to help point me in the right direction according to what my personality dictated. In my role as a Guardian ad litem I acted as a liaison between children, families and the court. In order to, protect the interests of minor children in the Department of Social Services (DSS) custody. This, was not an easy task because this required the removal of children (ages 0-17) from the home who have been abused or neglected. This, sometimes meant a child would be separated from his or her siblings and placed into foster care until a permanent placement was obtained rather it be a parent completing a case plan or a child gaining out of the system. As a Guardian ad litem I was required to treat everyone with dignity and respect and to established a positive rapport, between clients, family members and the community.…

Power of Attorney and Guardian Relationship Guardianship Guardianship is a legal relationship between a competent adult, agency, or institution and a ward (FamilyCare America, 2015). A ward is a person who is above 18 years old with a disability that causes him or her to not be able to act as usual (FamilyCare America, 2015). This guardianship enables the ward to have the wellbeing by allowing the person who has capabilities to make decisions for the ward (FamilyCare America, 2015). Guardianship acts when an individual is proven to be mentally disabled to make decision. Thus, the judgment is made by considering the person's ability to make his or her own informed decision (FamilyCare America, 2015).…

In Plato’s Republic, the dissolution of private family life is what facilitates the unification of the city, Kallipolis. In his discussion with Glaucon, Socrates attempts to eliminate the gap between the private and public spheres by indicating that “[e]verything [in the city] should be in common” (Grube 1992, 451e). By eliminating the possibility of a family life, the loyalty of the Guardian class will no longer be divided between their commitment to private relationships, and their obligations to the city. In other words, the Guardians will be more effective in performing their duties if they were not distracted by the familial responsibilities of their daily lives. For example, Guardians will not be burdened by responsibilities of parenthood where they might place their emotional feelings of acceptance, love, and affection for their wives and children over their duties for the city (Grube 1992, 449c).…
