In my junior year, one of my friends finally told me that her step dad used to sexually assault her and her mother never believed her and always beat her every time she tried to tell her what he does to her. In the result of this, she didn 't see a reason to live because her own mother did not believe her and no one else was so she wanted to take her life, and she always did. I want to be the person that people can come to, talk to, and help them find the resources to do better, and to help place children in a better home environment. I want to educate on the topic of sexual assault and rape and how it happens every. So I thought I could help by getting my criminal justice degree and use that to be an activate and get the bad people off the street, but then I had to realize that is not what I really wanted to do, it was way bigger. I believe being a social worker can really help people on the emotional, mentally side of
