My Peer Assessments

Decent Essays
My peer assessments were interesting. I did not think there was a happy medium from my peers. Some of my peers said I was at the bottom percentile for feedback, achieving goals, initiative and volunteering, and military bearing. On the other side, they said I was at the top of the list with excellence in all categories. I completely disagree with that. I thought I would be in the middle for essentially everything. I feel as an Airmen, my military bearing is spot on. In my own opinion, I haven’t acted out, used any foul language or been unprofessional. Next, I feel as though feedback should be in the middle instead of the bottom or top. I think it is hard in general to rate people on feedback because for a few short weeks we all work together

Here is my evaluation of my peers’ review. On the scale of 1 to 5, Hannah Vassar’s review is ranked number 5. She was very helpful with her suggestions such as she changed a few of my sentences to make them sound better. She also was very thorough and caught some mistakes that I would not have caught if she would not have reviewed it. For example, she caught a mistake I made in my header about not capitalizing a letter in my address.…

I have never experienced this type of pressure from a parent in the 8 years that I have been teaching, but I have experienced parents who were concerned about their child's grade. One incident I can remember a parent who challenged me on how I graded quizzes. She wanted to know why I scored some quizzes 20 out of 20 and others 100 out of 100. She felt that her child could have gotten a better grade if I did not have various points assigned to different quizzes.…

Graduate Internship One resource that the after-school will need is before conducting an evaluation is an external evaluator. Currently, staff members don’t have the skill required to conduct a program evaluation. One recommendation would be partnering with a university where graduate students can assist with data collection and analysis. The first step will be contacting department chairs and professors to see if they are interested in developing a partnership.…
