My Passion For Veterinary Medicine

Decent Essays
I am beyond proud of how far my family has gotten in the past two decades. My parents came to America from Taiwan with something close to ten American dollars in the year of 1995. During this time, all they could think about is how to create a better life here for me and my older brother. Regardless of all the hardship my parents had faced, they would always inconvenient themselves to raise me and my brother in a safe and nurturing environment. Therefore, from experiencing the ups and downs my family has faced, I have a zealous heart to contribute to my family anyway possible. To accomplish this, I feel that to continue to strive for my passion for veterinary medicine is my way of giving back to my family and my community.

My interest in the veterinary field began when I was six, when I arbitrarily announced I was going to be a veterinarian simply because I loved animals. Since I was quite young at the time, I was unaware what the job actually entailed. Consequently, I was somehow under the impression that if I watched National Geographic and Animal Planet, then I could immediately become a veterinarian upon graduating high school. I was undeterred when I realized just how much time that needed to be dedicated to school, and instead, it motivated me to take challenging classes in high school and to pursue a job at an animal hospital.…
