My parents divorced when I was only nine years old. While I did not completely understand the circumstances as to why this had happened or what role I had played, I had two younger sisters who looked up to me. I had to show them strength and a reason to believe everything would be ok. I was not ready to be a leader nor was I ready to accept the fact that life was not going to get any easier. I had to grow up and embrace my fears to be there for those who needed me. Everyday I would wake up and tell myself that I am no longer living only for myself but for my sisters and my parents.
