Cliche Glass Half Empty Analysis

The cliche glass half full or half empty saying is not just a saying, but also holds with it a quality of truth. If you see situations as a glass half empty, then you most likely are a pessimist; someone who inevitably sees or anticipates the worst. However, if you see the glass as half full, then you are most likely an optimist; a person who believes good will always prevail. Looking into characteristics of both personalities, I have reinstated that I am, in fact, an optimist. My environment, my way of expression, love language, and the advice I give, all contribute to my optimism as a person.

Being my top love language, acts of service, is something that I do quite frequently. Various ways in which I prove that are through volunteer work, mission trips, cooking for friends and family, and doing small chores and tasks. When volunteering and doing mission work I mainly focus on the hands on obligations. Building structures, cleaning up messes, and yard work are only a few components. They say food is the way to a man's heart, but I believe food is a demonstration of the love you hold within yourself, what you are willing to give and the effort and consideration you attain for them. Then, the satisfactory feeling that overwhelms me when I do something for someone, without their knowledge or inquiry, permits me to keep reducing the weight on my dearest friends shoulders. Many of my close friends are in sports and always seem to be in pain and in need of a little unknotting to their muscles. With another one of my love languages, physical touch, I reach out to those friends and unknot those muscles and take away their soreness.
