My Observational Learning Analysis

Decent Essays
Learning is a continuous process. The things I have learned mostly is observational learning. For example, I have learned to cook, do my hair, and other basic things for daily living by seeing my mother do it. I had never been away from home and it’s almost two months I have been here. I am getting used to it now, trying to adjust myself in the whole new environment to me. At first, I had lot of difficulty adjusting here as the weather is too hot, everyone is a stranger and every rules are very different from my country. However, I have learned many new things and tried to get used to it and communicate with seniors and made new friends and it feels good learning new things and growing new

What you learned came from your own experiences and you won’t forget it. Of course, when you learn from your own experience, it is much slower than just someone telling you how things work. You will learn along the way as you do things. So for homework let’s say, if I didn’t understand a problem, I’m the type to try and figure it out on my own before I get help from the internet or a friend. I like to know that I am able to find the solution before being given the steps to it because I learn better…

I learn best through engaging hands-on activities. For example, I’ve learned how to perform CPR on a dummy, dissect a baby pig, and partake in an EMT simulation. Performing CPR on a dummy has taught me how deep I need to push down when performing CPR and how fast I need to go. Dissecting a baby pig has presented a better visual for me to locate various organs/systems and the EMT simulation taught me to think on my feet and work quickly in a team environment.…

I have learned very little so far. I am 16 years old, and have essentially no information about the world around me. Of course if I needed to I could carry out some semi-advanced mathematics, sciences, explain a bit about certain aspects of history, or write a good essay (hopefully). But nearly everyone can do this, because they have gone to school. Unfortunately, school is not even a fraction of a…

“Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together” When reading this quote, to me, being impulsive in life means that you’re doing things without thinking and in a fast paced manner. This quote is explaining that in order to be successful we must have steps for it and be prepared for anything that comes in our way. What Van Gogh is also trying to say is, that you can do great things in life by having a process and taking many tries at it instead of giving up on something by only doing it once and not thinking critically. For example, I have drove before and at first, I was clearly not ready and didn't know much about driving.…

Learning can be interpreted in many ways to different individuals, although to me learning is about gaining knowledge and embracing every experience encountered and linking it to any task. Also I would explain that being open minded is a strong attribute to apply during the learning process. During my week one I stated that learning is to open and broaden an individual’s mind on subjects to gain knowledge or skills, and I’ve grown to realize its more than that. People can learn using different methods and be more responsive to one rather than the other. I am a Strong-Willed learner.…

In Josef Mendoza's A Thematic Analysis of Self-Directed Learning, Mendoza, a Doctor of Education, discusses the creature's self-directed learning and its relation to modern education. Mendoza discusses the positive and negative implications that result from the creature's (abbreviated by F$) self-directed learning. Mendoza agrees with Malcom Knowles's premise that "the instructor's role as a learning 'facilitator'" is necessary for optimal learning (qtd. in Mendoza 37). Mendoza emphasizes that learning within contexts of situations indirectly "has practical utility [and] is more highly valued and readily apprehended than subject-centered content approaches to formal education" (Mendoza 26).…

Observational Learning There are a few different types of ways of learning. Some types of learning may require reinforcement, but observational learning also referred to as social learning has no evident prior reinforcement (Feldman, 2013). Observational learning involves observing someone else’s behavior and learning from or mimicking the persons or models behavior in short, it is learning through modeling (Feldman, 2013). Observational behavior is a social phenomenon, looked at by psychologists Albert Bandura as a social cognitive approach to learning (Feldman, 2013).…

Introduction The objective of this paper is for me to demonstrate an understanding of my past life experiences through the information that I have learned in this course. I have chosen to focus on multiple meaningful experiences in my life. Some experiences from my past may not appear to be bright and sunny; however my ophthalmologist assured me that all of my rods and cones were in good working order. “Ha-ha” Everything that I have gone through has made me the consciously aware woman that I am today. I’m still a work in progress.…

A Learning theory is a framework describing how information is processed and absorbed by our minds. Behavioural, personal and environmental factors, as well as previous experiences, all play a part in our understanding. They explain how different factors can help learners process and recall information, suggesting that as we learn we also change the way we perceive our surroundings and the way we interact with others. A definition by Kimble (1961) is that “Learning refers to a more or less permanent change in behaviour which occurs as a result of practice”, suggesting learning will almost always be permanent.…

According to Merriam Webster Dictionary (1828), learning is defined as the attainment of knowledge or skills through study, experience, or being taught. Generally, people define learning as what we learn as a result of things that happen to us. For example, we learned not to tell lies because we can get in trouble, we learned that thunder comes after lightning, and we learned to cook from watching the steps demonstrated to us. Proof that we have actually learned these things come from acquired apposite reactions to them. We try to prevent telling lies, when lightning strikes, we protect our ears, and we cook.…
