My Observation Of Casey's Motor Skills In Young Children

Decent Essays
According to the Developmental Profiles, based on what I have observed I would say that Casey’s motor skills are in line with what a four year old should be doing. When she was outside on the play ground with the other children while running she was able to change directions without stopping first, hop on one foot, and skip. Also while on the playground she was able to climb the equipment. I also observed that when Casey is writing she is using the tripod grasp. She is also able to hold a spoon and feed herself without making a huge mess. Her level of eye-hand coordination helps her cary out self-help tasks. Casey’s eye-hand coordination enables her to write, to feed herself, to put on her boots without help, and put on and zip up her jacket

Joey’s developmental milestone I would expect is some deficiencies are possibly language acquisition, emotional development, and attachment milestones. Because from birth Joey was separated from his paternal mother Amelia until he was three months old, due to the fact Emilia is addicted to crack cocaine and joey tested positive for having the drug in his system when he was born. This could be the reason for the deficiencies of language acquisition and emotional development. B. Furthermore, for the three months he was placed in a foster home he was separated from his mother and family which could cause reactive attachment disorder, and being in a foster home with limited resources the care giver probably didn’t have too much time to dedicate…

Play is part of children's nature, especially playing outside. "We’re not talking about structured play. We’re talking about free unstructured play out of doors." Seslija(2014) explains, which is a counselor for Health and Physical Education in the UK.Outside precisely is the “boundaries” of children,it should be a simple and carefree place(Seslija,2014).However,there is a growing body of evidence, according to Cheryl(2009),that demonstrates children’s experiences to nature have changed significantly in childhood in the past few decades. In addition,“there are strong indicators of an absence of direct experience with the natural world in many children’s everyday lives. ”(Charles,2009)However,as Seslija(2014)argues,it is difficult to see a child plays outside anymore in some suburban areas,“It's a desert.…

Most of the kids by the first five minutes of this observational period finished and cleaned up their table. Seeing such a drastic that seems to come from about 4 to 6 is amazing, unlike the preschoolers and toddlers the middle childhood kids have begun to take on more responsibility for their actions and are actually able to contribute to the world around them. For example, one of the kids needed a napkin, and rather than just asking a caregiver to get it, they got up and retrieved the napkin. Understandably, this is nothing special and in all honesty I may be finding such meaningless task a bit too exciting, but simply put, the change that can be noticed each age group and with such a large change from the preschoolers observed before it is just amazing to think about how much…

I hear him making all sorts of noises while playing with those objects, once a banana was a train, and a strawberry was a car, and a car strawberry crashed into a banana. When I asked him what happened and why he chooses the banana to be a train, he said it is because it is way longer than the strawberry. From that example I can see that he developed cognitive and object play. He also has a photogenic memory. He does not know how to write or spell, but if you show him a paper that has 20 words written down for just three seconds, he can copy all those words in the same order, without any mistake.…
