My Observation Of Archetype

Improved Essays
Have you ever really observed any food that you have eaten? I have, and the outcome was definitely more interesting than I thought it would be. Whenever we eat something we never observe it, we just eat it and enjoy the taste and sometimes the smell. And yes taste is obviously very important, but what exactly do we taste? What does it mean for something to taste good or bad? Well I had the opportunity to observe my favorite fruit, a green grape. I was able to have a deeper perception than seeing a small, green and sweet fruit. I will be writing about my experience and sharing what I observed from the taste, touch/texture, smell, temperature, sound, color, shape changes that occurred during my observation, and crucial visual aspects; the skin, interior aspects and the external design of a green grape. There’s more to food than we perceive. …show more content…
The grape's skin was smooth and rubbery the texture reminded me of a blown up balloon. After feeling for texture I began to smell my grape. The grape didn’t have much of a scent to it so I rubbed the skin which worked wonderfully. After I rubbed the grape I was surprised that it didn’t smell good, it had an unpleasant smell. The grape’s skin smelled bitter and grass like. The grape’s scent reminded me of fresh cut grass and the secnt of a Jade plant when you crush it. The taste of the grape was the most exciting part of this observation. In the past when I would just eat grapes I was happy because they were sweet and crunchy and “tasted good”. However everything changed when I really observed the flavers of the grape. First off all, the grape was too sweet. It tasted as if I was eating Splenda mixed with water. After I got thru the taste of sweet I began to taste the skin which tasted as it smelled, like bitter fresh cut

    Taste Buds: A Case Study

Cell-Cell Communication in Taste Buds: Activation of Type II cells by taste stimuli causes the release of ATP through pannexin hemichannels and/or CALMH1 channels. The released ATP or sour stimuli can activate Type III cells and causes release of different hormones such as 5-HT and NE via Ca2+-dependent exocytosis. In some instances NE is co-released with 5-HT (Dvoryanchikov et al., 2007; Huang et al., 2008a). The ATP released by Type II taste cells acts as a paracrine as well as an autocrine signaling molecule. The ATP activates gustatory nerve fibers and Type III cells by binding to the P2X (on nerve fibers) or P2Y (Type III cells) receptors and also binds to purinergic receptors (P2Y) on Type II cells and promotes further release of ATP,…

Rough Draft Research Paper: Abby Connor How Does Smell Affect Taste? There are many different ways smell affect taste, one reason for this is because of the way the brain percepts how the food smells. For example, if you smell something that might smell like strawberry, like a slushie that may have strawberry in it but mostly smells like strawberry , you might think that it is strawberry or, but it could really be blueberry flavored, your brain may still think that is strawberry, this is because of the way it smelled, even though you may have already tasted it you may still think it is strawberry/raspberry flavored. Smell also affects taste because of how taste and smell interact with each other.…

One of the most common associations made by children, and people in general, is senses. Basic human senses include taste, texture, sight, and smell. One of the most expected and common answers children respond why a specific fruit or vegetable is their favorite is sweetness. In fact, this response reflects children’s elementary biology that protects them from ingesting poisons, which tend to be bitter (Mannella and Bobowski). As a result, the simple genetics of humans play a major factor in the reasons why children prefer some food over others.…
