My Nursing Goals

One day I want to be a pediatric physician; achieving a bachelors degree is one of the paths to becoming a physician. I chose nursing because I love people. I love the moments I share with people, whether they are bad or good. I enjoy having a direct impact on people lives by sharing experiences, giving advice and words of encouragement, and providing help when in need. In doing so, I feel a sense of peace, joy, and accomplishment when given the chance to impact people in a positive way. I believe this is where my passion for healthcare originate. A person’s health affects major aspects of their daily life. I want to help people, who are dependent due to illness, reach and maintain a position to do things on their own. As a nurse, I would impact the life of my patients because I would be their greatest advocate. As stated before, my goal is to become a physician. However, I believe the experience of nursing would advance my practice to new heights because I can empathize with my patients more. Also, I am thankful for my previous work experience in health care.
